As Mad As A Hatter
This morning while looking through a book on hats, I came across the phrase “as mad as a hatter.” Here is the definition of the phrase reprinted from www.phrases.org.uk  ”Mercury used to be used in the making of hats. This was known to have affected the nervous systems of hatters, causing them to tremble and appear insane.”  Nice!
